Aiding Decision in Project Management

Research topics

I am a senior researcher at Industrial Engineering Laboratory, within the group ORKID (Organization, Risk, Knowledge In Design processes and projects). Project control and risk management are key themes of my research topics. These research themes in this area are intended to provide project managers tools for aiding decision making.

Our research aims at developping models for evaluating the risk level of a situation (project, project portfolio or process), the set of available treatment strategies, and then aiding decision making. Particular focus areas of interest include time and cost planning and control; resource scheduling; scenario planning to deal with uncertainties; risk models and management; development of models, simulation and tools for project planning.

Our contributions are supported by a prototype, named ProRisk, which is developped by the research team. ProRisk is a project steering aiding tool through a better risks management inside the project. Its objectives are to assist the global project risk level evaluation on one hand, and to help choosing the best response strategies (mitigation) on the other. .
